Morocco is a country of unparalleled diversity. A place where old traditions and lively cultures come together in a landscape that is constantly changing. During this trip you experience the best of Morocco, from the chaotic charm of Marrakech to the calm of the desert and the relaxed atmosphere on the coast. But what makes this trip really special is the remarkable trek through the High Atlas mountains. An experience few travellers have.
Unlike many other trips that only make a day trip to Imlil, we take you deep into the mountains. Here you walk along old caravan routes, cross mountain passes and pass authentic Berber villages where life has followed the same rhythm for centuries.
After the trek you travel further south, where the landscapes change drastically: the imposing Dades gorge with its rock formations, the narrow Todra gorge where palm trees and steep cliffs alternate, and finally the vast dunes of the Sahara. From the desert you travel via a fairy-tale UNESCO world heritage site towards the coast, ending in atmospheric Essaouira.

Hanneke van Dal and Leopold Roessingh build small-scale, tailor-made mountain journeys — “slow down, wonder, connect”. For more than fifteen years they have organised trips in the Alps, Himalaya and Atlas, and they still sell every trip as a private departure shaped around the group rather than a fixed schedule. Leopold, who leads the leadership journeys, is co-owner of the climbing organisation Climbing Network; Hanneke develops the leadership programmes with outside facilitators.
