The experience

In the heart of the Pyrenees lies the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park, a beautiful and impressive landscape of deep gorges, imposing limestone massifs and many waterfalls that carve their way through the green valleys.

During the hut trek you walk through one of the most beautiful areas of the Pyrenees. From Spanish Ordesa via the famous Brecha de Rolando to French Gavarnie and back again to Bujaruelo. It is a trek full of contrasts, with rugged peaks, quiet mountain meadows, streams, massifs and hospitable mountain huts.

You start this week in the small town of Bielsa, on the Spanish side of the Pyrenees, in the valley of the river Cinca and surrounded by impressive mountains. The next day you meet the guide and the hut trek starts.

15 years running experiences

Hanneke van Dal and Leopold Roessingh build small-scale, tailor-made mountain journeys — “slow down, wonder, connect”. For more than fifteen years they have organised trips in the Alps, Himalaya and Atlas, and they still sell every trip as a private departure shaped around the group rather than a fixed schedule. Leopold, who leads the leadership journeys, is co-owner of the climbing organisation Climbing Network; Hanneke develops the leadership programmes with outside facilitators.
