Terms of service
The agreement behind every booking and every listing on NatureTreats. Written to be read, not scrolled past.
Last updated September 25, 2026
Who does what
NatureTreats B.V., Zijlweg 16 in Overveen, runs this website. We bring together people looking for an experience in nature and the small hosts who run them. A person reviews every listing before it goes live, and we take your payment and hold it until the experience is over.
The host runs the experience itself. When you book, your agreement for the experience is with the host. Your agreement with us covers the booking, the payment and this website.
Booking
- A booking is made when you confirm it at checkout. From that moment your places are held for 2 hours while the payment reaches us.
- If it has not arrived by then, the booking expires and the places go back on sale. If your transfer arrives later and the places are still free, we confirm it anyway. If they are gone, we send the money back.
- The price you see is the price you pay. We never add a fee on top of the host's price.
- Your booking is confirmed once we have received the payment, and we email you to say so.
Payment
You pay NatureTreats, not the host. Depending on the amount, you pay online or by bank transfer quoting the booking reference. We hold the money and pay the host 3 days after the experience ends. If the experience does not happen, you get your money back in full.
Cancelling
- Every listing shows its cancellation policy before you book. That policy decides what you get back if you cancel, and it is the one that applies to your booking.
- If the host cancels, or the experience cannot go ahead, you get everything back.
- A refund goes back the way you paid.
The experiences are leisure activities on a fixed date, so the 14-day right of withdrawal that applies to most online purchases does not apply to them. The listing's cancellation policy does.
Your part
- Give us correct contact details and the real names of everyone coming.
- Read who the experience is for, and who it is not for, before you book. Time in nature can be physically and emotionally demanding.
- Arrange the insurance the listing asks for. We do not arrange insurance for you.
- Follow the guide's instructions during the experience.
Who is responsible for what
The host is responsible for running the experience safely and as described. We are responsible for this website, for handling your payment with care and for reviewing listings with care. A review is a judgement made in good faith, not a promise that nothing can go wrong.
We are not liable for what happens during an experience, except where the law says we are. Nothing in these terms takes away a right the law gives you as a consumer.
For hosts
- Listing is free. We charge 12.5% commission on what a buyer pays, ex VAT, and nothing else.
- You are paid by bank transfer 3 days after the experience ends.
- A person reviews every listing before it goes live, and again when you change something a buyer decides on, such as the price or the cancellation policy.
- You are responsible for what your listing says, for the permits, insurance and qualifications your experience needs, and for running it as described.
- A booking made here is paid here. Do not ask a buyer to pay you directly for it.
Complaints
Something not right? Write to info@naturetreats.eu. We answer within two weeks and work to put it right with you and the host.
These terms are governed by Dutch law. A dispute we cannot settle together goes to the competent court in the Netherlands.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. A booking is always governed by the terms that applied when you made it.
