Privacy policy

What we keep about you, why, who else handles it, and how to have it removed. We keep what a booking needs, and we never sell it.

Who we are

NatureTreats B.V., Zijlweg 16 in Overveen, runs this website and is responsible for the personal data it handles. Any question about your data goes to info@naturetreats.eu.

What we keep

Only what you give us, and only when you use the part of the site that needs it.

  • When you book: your name, email address and phone number, the names of the other participants, and the booking itself — the experience, the date, the seats and what you paid.
  • When you write to a host: your messages, their replies, and the phone number or email address we send replies to.
  • When you sign in: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google. We ask Google for your name and email address and nothing else in your Google account.
  • When you apply as a host: your company and contact details, the bank account we pay you into, what you write in your listings and the photos you upload.
  • When you visit: the technical details every web server sees, such as your IP address and browser, kept in our logs to keep the site secure.

Why we use it

  • To make your booking and run it through to the day itself.
  • To pass messages between you and the host, without either of you seeing the other's phone number or email address.
  • To send your invoice, your confirmation and the reminders before the trip.
  • To keep the financial records Dutch law requires.
  • To keep the site secure and stop misuse.

We send no newsletter you did not ask for, we show no advertising, and we never sell your data.

What the host sees

The host of your experience sees your name, the names of the participants and your messages. They never see your phone number or email address, and you never see theirs: every message passes through us.

Who else handles it

A few companies help us run the site. Each handles your data only to do that job, on our instructions.

  • Amazon Web Services hosts the site, the database and the photos, and sends our emails. All of it is stored in Frankfurt, Germany.
  • Twilio delivers the text and WhatsApp messages between you and a host.
  • Online Payment Platform processes a payment when a booking is paid online.
  • Google, only when you choose to sign in with Google.
  • An AI model run by Amazon Web Services reads a host's public website, when they apply, to draft their first listings. It reads only what is already public.

Twilio and Google may handle data outside the European Union. Where they do, they are bound by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Cookies

We set one cookie, and only when you sign in: it keeps you signed in. There are no analytics, tracking or advertising cookies on this site, so there is nothing to accept or refuse.

How long we keep it

Booking and payment records are kept for seven years, because Dutch tax law requires it. Messages are kept as long as the booking they belong to. Anything else, such as an account or an application that went nowhere, we remove when you ask or once it no longer serves a purpose.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it removed, or to receive a copy of it. You can also object to how we use it. Write to info@naturetreats.eu and we answer within a month. Removal cannot reach the records the law requires us to keep.

If you think we handle your data wrongly, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, the new version appears on this page with a new date. If a change affects a booking you have already made, we tell you by email.
